Strategic Planning
In order to function at optimum levels, organizations must implement and maintain management 
practices and strategic policies that fully utilize existing resources and maximize opportunities to meet or exceed established metrics for success. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) represent a crucial and often overlooked necessity in strategic planning. Alexius International has experience in fusing existing structures with new ICT functions and offers a wealth of strategic consulting services.
Developing an ICT strategy begins with formulating a solid course of action that takes the interest of the stakeholder community into account. As part of any strategic planning, Alexius seeks to build commitment and buy-in between all interested parties who are fundamental to the success of any ICT strategy. Alexius works hard to establish partnerships with stakeholders from both the public and private sector, building coalitions that actively participate in strategic execution. In addition, Alexius develops institutional mechanisms that serve as a catalyst for the coordination and execution of the strategies, which often results in seeding initiatives that are later fully executed by private, public or civil society sectors.
From Alexius' experience working with institutions, strategic planning is often something completely new for organizations, particularly from the standpoint of developing a drill-down version of a strategy focused on ICTs. Alexius' approach focuses on transferring the skill set of strategic planning and project management to the organizations' staff so that it can be applied throughout the institution and in disciplines outside of ICTs. This exercise often positions the ICT staff as the lead planning organization within the institution.

- Habitat for Humanity In-Depth ICT Diagnosis
- Alexius performed a nationwide diagnostic determining the most immediate technology threats to Habitat's operations in Guatemala.
- ICT Assessment & Master Strategy
- Overview of ICT Assessment and resulting Master Strategy in Armenia.
- Last Mile Initiative
- Overview of LMI.
- LMI Colombia
- Alexius helped expand telecommunications access into rural Colombia, which helps institutionalize democracy and involve people in the nation's economy.
- LMI Ecuador
- Alexius partnered with USAID to deploy a high speed Internet connectivity through the Credit Union network in order to service rural communities.
- LMI Guatemala
- In this project, Alexius created the Oportunet brand, under which micro-telcos operate. Through this, rural communities gained access to telecommunications, which then delivered new social and economic opportunities to those communities.
- LMI Paraguay
- LMI-Paraguay provided internet access to 100 organizations throughout Paraguay, before the private sector brought internet access to them, in order to help them learn how to maximize the community benefits of internet access.
- LMI Peru
- Alexius and partners deployed one of the first micro-telcos in Peru, giving various organizations internet access. After seeing the vast development potential, the Peruvian government allocated more funds to create more micro-telcos in rural areas.
- Ministry of Labor Initiative, Guatemala
- Alexius helped modernize the Ministry of Labor in order to create a more efficient, knowledgeable office.
- Public Ministry Financial-Accounting System
- Alexius worked with the Public Ministry in Honduras to update their financial-accounting system, allowing them to have better knowledge of and more efficiently use their financial resources.
- Public Ministry: Institutional ICT Strategic Plan
- Alexius assisted the Public Ministry of Honduras in developing its first Master ICT Strategic Plan in order to sustainably develop an ICT infrastructure.
- Regional Labor Modernization
- Alexius partnered with USAID to create the Regional Labor Modernization Program, aimed at reforming the operations of the labor institutions in Central America by using ICTs as a change agent.
- Supreme Justice Court: Institutional ICT Strategic Plan
- Alexius worked with the Supreme Justice Court in Honduras to create an ICT Strategic Plan in order to modernize and strengthen the Court's IT infrastructure.
