E-Government

Enabling governments to be more efficient and transparent.

dsc08476.jpgE-government involves national, state, and local government agencies leveraging ICTs to revolutionize the way they interact with businesses, civil society, and other arms of government.  Alexius International offers a wealth of experience in working with government agencies to embrace e-government.  Our methodology involves analysis and implementation on different levels, beginning with core backend systems through the functional layers of ensured administrative and transactional capacity, to the outermost interfaces that are available to all in the form of public websites, integrated mobile services, and call centers. Following implementation, AI strongly believes in developing a shared or in-house ICT training or support capacity within the government agencies. This enables both the government and its constituents to continue reaping the benefits of e-government through ongoing improvements in human capital.

Strategic e-government developments must begin with determining the output of a solid e-government assessment, derived from gap analysis results, benchmarks, and best practices informed by well-known strategic management methodologies. Each institution must be positioned relative to its peers and its political context based on factors of strategic vision, capacity for execution, and long-term sustainability. All program and project implementations and deployment plans flow from the outcomes of these strategic planning phases.

Simply providing short-term technical and financial support to developing countries in the name of e-government is insufficient.  In order for sustainable growth to take place, developing countries must retain strategic control of projects, objectives, and coordination.  Along the way, a solid IT foundation, including the availability of an applicable technology tools, such as those from our PAK-IT project, will be an indispensable component to the achievement of e-government functionality in developing and transitioning countries today.
